Sunny Deol is currently riding the high wave with the success of his latest release Gadar 2. The film has been enjoying a blockbuster run at the box office and has broken several records. Now, during a recent interaction, the lead actor spoke about how he used to be called ‘duffer’ in his childhood because he was dyslexic as a child. ALSO READ | SPOTTED! During a recent interaction with Ranveer Allahbadia Sunny Deol elaborated on his childhood and how he often used to get slapped for not scoring well in his exams. He said, "I was dyslexic as a child. Back then, we didn’t even know what that meant! Thappad padte the, duffer hai, padhai nahi aati (I would get slapped, and called duffer for not being able to study). Even now when it comes to reading, sometimes the words seem all jumbled up."


The actor also recalled a time when people used to ask him to use a teleprompter during public gatherings. He refused the same and said, “I am like you tell me what to say, I will try to speak.” He further added that he had a very high IQ in childhood and said, “Me being dyslexic never came up in conversation over the years. But it used to get difficult, initially, I would feel (nervous) to speak.”

Sunny Deol made a comeback nearly 9 years after his film Yamla Pagla Deewana 2 with the sequel of his 2001 hit Gadar: Ek Prem Katha and impressed fans with his performance as Tara Singh. Speaking of Gadar 2, the Anil Sharma directorial starred Sunny Deol as Tara Singh, Ameesha Patel as Sakeena, Utkarsh Sharma as Charanjeet, and Manish Wadhwa as the antagonist. The movie also stars Simrat Kaur, Luv Sinha, and Gaurav Chopra among others in key roles. Release on August 11, the movie collected over Rs 600 crore at the box office within 18 days and has become the third highest-grossing film of the year.
